Teen who Killed Cab Driver in Northeast DC Arrested after Long Investigation by Authorities

Washington DC: A major development has taken place in the investigation of a rideshare driver’s murder in Northeast Washington, all thanks to the hard work of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch. In July 2023, Nasrat Ahmad Yar, a 31-year-old from Alexandria, VA, was discovered shot inside a vehicle and later declared deceased despite extensive life-saving efforts.

On July 3, 2023, an incident occurred in the early hours that prompted a thorough investigation. On March 1, authorities captured a 15-year-old male from Northeast, D.C., by a DC Superior Court custody order.

The young individual faces charges of First Degree Murder while Armed, representing a significant development in the case and offering a sense of closure for the victim’s family and community.
