Teen Stabs 15-Year-Old, Calls Her ‘Love of My Life,’ Begs Police for Death in Wisconsin

The arrest and capture of a 17-year-old suspect who had just stabbed a teenage girl after breaking into her home through a bedroom window is seen on body camera footage taken by Wisconsin police.

The 15-year-old girl called police early on September 2, 2022, to report that she had been woken up by someone stabbing her, according to a criminal complaint from the Onalaska Police Department that Eau Claire ABC station WEAU was able to obtain. Although she managed to repel her assailant, a portion of her pinkie was slipping off. Austin Bailey was the suspect, according to the girl.

She allegedly admitted to police that she had been spending the night with Bailey, but she felt uneasy after a friend revealed to her that he had taken uninvited pictures of her while she was asleep and kept them in a folder on his phone named “love of my life.”

Bailey’s mother assisted police in tracking him down to a nearby apartment complex, where they saw him brandishing a knife outdoors. Officers initially attempted to persuade him to drop the firearm.

“I know things aren’t good right now,” a cop stated. “Like we said it’s not the end of the world. She’s gonna be OK. This has gotta be it.”

But it didn’t sit well with Bailey.

“F—ing shoot me,” he stated. “Shoot me or I’m gonna stab myself. But either way, I’m gonna die.”

Eventually, police fired a nonlethal round at Bailey. After that, they sent him to prison.

According to court documents, Bailey, who is currently 19 years old, entered a guilty plea to attempted first-degree intentional homicide earlier this year. In March, he was given a 16-year prison sentence with 556 days of time served credit by a judge. He will serve a four-year probationary period after his release from prison.
