A 27-year-old educator has been taken into custody following accusations of placing a 15-year-old pupil in a headlock at a high school in Brooklyn, as reported by law enforcement and sources.
A startling event occurred at International High School in Lafayette on Tuesday at approximately 12:30 p.m., resulting in an injured student being transported to Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital in Brooklyn, according to police and sources.
According to sources, the educator, Gary Zeng, reportedly assaulted the student after the child entered his classroom without authorization.
A teacher has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including second-degree strangulation, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree assault, according to police reports.
The cause of the reported assault remains unclear at this time.
Authorities reported that the individual, who suffered neck injuries, is currently in stable condition.
