On Friday, documents filed with the Preble County Common Pleas Court revealed that Garrett Stringer-Smith, 31, has entered a plea of not guilty to charges of sexual battery.
As reported earlier by News Centre 7, Stringer-Smith faced an indictment on 10 counts of sexual battery earlier this month.
A teacher at Twin Valley Community Schools, Stringer-Smith, faces allegations regarding an inappropriate relationship with a student.
On February 7, he was taken into custody following a report made by the student to a school resource officer, as detailed in an earlier report from News Centre 7.
Footage from the body camera of Englewood Police, acquired by News Centre 7, revealed the moment Stringer-Smith was taken into custody by Preble County Sheriff’s deputies outside his residence in Englewood.
“Hi, Mr. Garrett? Yes. Can you step out and talk to us for a minute? Some of the deputies here need to speak with you,” an Englewood Police Officer can be heard saying in the footage.
He secured his release from jail after posting bond on Monday, February 10.

Court documents reveal that the purported relationship began in January of the previous year when the student was 17 years old.
According to the documents, the relationship took a sexual turn in September.
According to the court documents, one incident took place in a church parking lot, while another occurred in a practice room at the school.
According to court documents, Stringer-Smith maintained a calendar in his office, marking it with a heart for each instance of sexual conduct.
The Superintendent of Twin Valley Community Local Schools, Scott Cottingim, has previously verified that Stringer-Smith is currently on administrative leave.
Stringer-Smith is set to return to court for a case settlement conference on April 24, as indicated by court records.
