Oakland, CA: Three individuals, believed to be from the Oakland region, were apprehended by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office following allegations of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of products from a Santa Rosa store.
The suspects were also linked to another crime in Sunnyvale, which was estimated to be valued between $75,000 and $100,000. According to the Sonoma Sheriff’s Office, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted by an H1 helicopter and then stopped by police as it careened down Hwy 101. This set off a high-speed pursuit for the officers.
The suspects’ car zipped across lanes and even used the shoulder as they sped up to nearly 100 mph during their wild adventure, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The suspects were trying to get away when they crashed into another vehicle, hurting the driver. As a result of the collision, the three were apprehended by deputies with the help of the Santa Rosa Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.
