Suspect Slapped with Charges After 25-Year-Old Missing Intellectually Disabled North Carolina Woman Found Dead in Woods

Honk News (Fayetteville, NC) – A man from North Carolina is in custody, facing charges for the murder of a young woman who disappeared earlier this month.

The 30-year-old man, Tyrell Siermons, faces a charge of first-degree murder, as reported by the Fayetteville Police Department.

Heather Williams, 25, was last spotted on January 4, captured in Ring camera footage as she departed her residence in a light-colored vehicle.

On January 10, authorities discovered the lifeless body of the victim in a wooded area close to a clearing at the intersection of Newark Avenue and State Avenue in the northwestern section of the city.

On Thursday, authorities announced the arrest of Siermons, who faces charges related to the woman’s murder, according to a brief statement from the police.

Information regarding the progress or wider inquiry is currently limited. According to the release, detectives collaborated with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team to execute the arrest.

The sister of the victim recently shared details regarding a conversation she had with someone who answered a number found in Williams’ phone log — a number that was reportedly called, or that called her, on the night she last departed from her home.

“He said he met her on Facebook, either through Facebook Dating or Messenger, he couldn’t remember which,” Mary Williams said in an interview. “He said he hung out with her one night, but he wasn’t sure if it was Saturday night.”

In previous statements to the television network, Mary Williams shared details regarding her sister’s life prior to the last events and the heartbreaking conclusion.

According to her sister, Heather Williams endured a car accident in 2015 that resulted in cognitive impairment, a restricted vocabulary, and a noticeable limp. In the face of challenges, the sister who remains shared that her sibling “put in a lot of effort, you know, just trying to lead a regular life and engage in the typical activities of someone in their mid-twenties,” as reported by WRAL.

According to earlier reports, authorities indicated that Williams was deemed “endangered due to cognitive impairment.”

The sister of the victim reported that she reached out to the individual she had contacted, and the response she received confirmed that he had indeed given her a ride on the night in question in his vehicle.

“It just makes me angry,” Mary Williams said. “You’d like to think people wouldn’t do something like this.”

The individual in question is presently held at the Cumberland County Detention Center with no option for bond release.
