SSI Update: Two Social Security Checks Coming This November; Check Why and When

In November, some Social Security recipients might receive an unexpected bonus: an additional check.

If you receive Social Security, there’s no need to be concerned; this situation is quite common. If you monitor the payment schedule from the Social Security Administration, you might already be aware of it.

Due to a unique timing of the calendar, individuals receiving Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive three payments in November: two SSI disbursements along with their regular Social Security payment, which is available to those aged 62 and above.

SSI recipients will not receive a payment in December. In August, SSI recipients received two checks, but in September, they did not receive any SSI checks.

In November, there’s an interesting occurrence with the calendar as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, which are extra payments for individuals with minimal income and resources, are distributed on the first business day of the month.

SSI recipients will receive their November payment on November 1. However, because December 1 is a Sunday this year, December payments will be issued on Friday, November 29, as per the SSA calendar.
