South Carolina Official Lured 15-year-old Boy; to His Home for Inappropriate Activities; Arrested after Molestation Surfaced

Honk News (Columbia, SC) – A former mayor pro tem in a South Carolina city faces charges of sexual battery related to a 15-year-old boy.

Warrants made public by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division reveal that 42-year-old Erik Sickinger, who held the position of mayor pro tem in Irmo, S.C., has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and luring a child under 16.

Authorities report that Sickinger and the minor exchanged messages via Snapchat.

The warrants indicate that Sickinger enticed the teenage boy to his residence for sexual encounters on several occasions.

According to the warrants, it is alleged that Sickinger provided the boy with marijuana and alcohol prior to taking him to get a tattoo, which was funded by the city official.

Sickinger has been officially booked into the Lexington County Detention Center, where he is currently being held on a $200,000 bond.

According to jail records, he has been released from the detention center.

It has been reported that Sickinger stepped down from his role on the Town Council following his arrest.
