An individual from Charleston County has been taken into custody in connection with the attempted sexual exploitation of a juvenile, according to an announcement made by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office on Monday.
On Friday, June 21, Adam Taylor Cossette, age 31, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of criminal solicitation of a minor, which is a felony offense that can result in a maximum sentence of ten years in prison for each count.
Additionally, he was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, which is a first-degree felony offense that can result in a maximum sentence of twenty years in prison. Additionally, he was suspected of promoting the prostitution of a minor, according to online jail records.
Together with investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office was responsible for making the arrest according to ABC4News.
It was alleged by the investigators that Cossette encouraged a minor to engage in prostitution, encouraged a person he thought to be a minor to engage in sexual activity with him, and encouraged the minor to generate media depicting child sexual assault.
Documents from the jail. On Saturday, June 22, Cossette was freed from custody after depositing a personal recognizance bond of $25,000.
