South Carolina Man Arrested for Molestation after Victim’s Family Member Called Police and Reported Sexual Misconduct

Honk News (Oconee County, SC) – A man from Upstate is still behind bars on Tuesday following charges of over twenty counts of criminal sexual conduct against him, according to investigators.

Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jeremy Hugh Slunder, 31, from Westminster, was taken into custody shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday, facing 25 charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor.

Authorities initiated an investigation into Slunder on February 2 following a conversation between a patrol deputy and a family member of the child victim concerning a sexual assault incident.

Authorities have charged Slunder with sexual battery involving the victim over a span from 2019 to 2023.

In the course of their inquiry, deputies along with DSS personnel approached a residence close to Westminster, where Slunder and his spouse, Katherine Renee Slunder, were residing.

Authorities reported witnessing three children residing in a house contaminated with animal waste, urine, and mold.

Katherine and Jeremy Slunder face three charges for allegedly putting a child in danger due to their living conditions.

Katherine was freed from the Oconee County Detention Center on Monday after posting a $15,000 bond.

Jeremy Slunder has been denied bond at his initial hearing and is currently held at the Oconee County Detention Center.

A staff member at Riverbank High School was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, accused of having a sexual relationship with a student, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

A Spanish teacher, Dulce Flores, is said to be involved with a 17-year-old male student in 2023. Since 2016, she has been influencing the next generation at Riverbank High.

The Sheriff’s Office thanked Riverbank Unified School District for its prompt reporting and cooperation, which aided investigators in understanding the nuances of the sensitive matter.

Flores is now in custody, with bail established at $20,000.
