South Carolina Man Arrested after He Tried to Meet Minor who was a Cop in Undercover Operation

A man from Myrtle Beach is being charged with various offenses relating to sexual offenses committed against children, according to a statement released by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Bryant Keith Moorefield, who is sixty years old, was out of the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center on Sunday after posting a bond of two hundred sixty thousand dollars.

The charges against him included four counts of criminal solicitation with a minor, attempted sexual activity with a minor in the second degree, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor in the first degree, and attempted sexual conduct with a minor in the second degree.

Moorefield is said to have traveled from the Myrtle Beach region to Charleston intending to meet a child who he believed to be 14 years old.

Moorefield was the one who made the initial contact with the decoy who was working undercover for the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in February, which led to his arrest.
