Police in New Mexico faced a tough situation during a standoff with two young brothers who were reportedly armed with a loaded gun.
Video shows deputies from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office arriving at the scene in February. 16 and attempting to talk to the boys, who were 7 and 9 at the time.
“Put it down, baby,” a woman deputy tells the brothers.
In the video, the deputy asks the brothers to put down the weapon three more times, but they refuse. Instead, they keep playing with the weapon and occasionally act as if they might use it.
The video of the brothers was taken by a drone. Deputies used it to watch the situation and keep an eye on the brothers without being in danger.
The video shows the brothers arguing about who gets to hold the gun during most of the standoff, and they ignore the deputies who are asking them to cooperate.
