School Employee Molested Student and Gave Drugs to Him; Sent to Prison after Fellow Teacher Noticed Inappropriate Messages in Colorado

Honk News (Denver, CO) – A former Jefferson County school staff member who entered a guilty plea on two charges in November received a four-year prison sentence on Friday.

Ewer, 28, entered a guilty plea on Nov. 25 to a charge of first-degree contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a charge of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position of trust. These are categorized as class four felonies.

A four-year sentence in the Department of Corrections has been handed down, along with a subsequent period of 10 years to life under “Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Probation,” due to the sexual assault of a student at Brady Exploration School.

In an arrest affidavit acquired by FOX31 in April 2024, it was revealed that Ewer engaged in sexual contact with the student over several months. Ewer was put on leave in November 2023 and officially terminated in December 2023, following a report from a teacher about inappropriate comments found on a class worksheet that seemed to involve Ewer and the victim discussing their bodies.

Authorities discovered electronic evidence of Ewer’s discussions with her victim, which included plans to erase text messages, use drugs together, book hotel rooms for intimate encounters, and verify their fabricated narrative.

The mother of the victim spoke to the court during the sentencing on Friday, according to prosecutors. The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office reported that she discussed the emotional impact this situation had on her family.

A prosecutor focused on special victims in the district attorney’s office stated in a press release that this was not the first instance of Ewer facing allegations of unprofessional behavior with students. The prosecutor highlighted that this situation within Jeffco schools is part of a broader pattern.

Ewer expressed remorse to the victim and his family during the sentencing, stating, “This will never happen again,” as reported by the DA’s office. Upon her release from prison, she will be classified as a lifetime registered sex offender.
