Rebel Moon: The Scargiver Review: A Sucker Punch and Zack Synder’s latest Misfire

Zack Synder has dropped the latest addition to the Rebel Moon. Part two which is titled “The Scargiver” is said to be the latest misfire of Synder’s career.

The movie came after part one” Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire”. The sequel was expected to solve the drama and audience hoped it to be high in action and curiosity quenching. But the sequel had its own surprises which left the audience feeling like the movie was a sucker punch. A simple way to put it is “Boring.”

The movie rejoin the titular Scargiver, Kora (Sofia Boutella), as she makes her triumphant return to Veldt, picking up just where Part One left off. She believes she has murdered Ed Skrein’s Atticus Noble and that they are free, for reasons that get even more incomprehensible as the individuals discuss them.

To no one’s surprise, they find out rather quickly what the rest of us knew: he’s back from the dead. It follows that Kora, Gunnar, Titus, Nemesis, Tarak, and Milius, played by Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, and Elise Duff, respectively, will have to be ready for an impending assault against an adversary that has superior weaponry. This sequel recycles the same tired science fiction tropes from the original film, albeit on a single planet that doesn’t even pretend to exist.

Neither part of Rebel Moon manages to impress, and The Scargiver is a significant step down, potentially hindering the franchise’s chances of making a comeback. The story takes a rather narrow path, desperately grasping for a loose end. In all, the movie was a serious letdown and was surely a misfire from the Synder’s side.
