MOBILE, Ala. – Police in Mobile are intensifying their search for 19-year-old Christian Love, the suspect in a shooting at an apartment complex on the University of South Alabama (USA) campus. The incident marks one of six violent crimes — three shootings and three stabbings — reported in the city over just three days.
University Campus Shooting Under Investigation
According to investigators, Love allegedly shot a man during a marijuana deal on South Alabama’s campus before fleeing the scene in a black Audi A4. Authorities released his photo Monday night and are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact University of South Alabama Police immediately.
Police said the victim sustained injuries but is expected to recover. The shooting adds to growing public concern about safety in Mobile, particularly following a surge in violent incidents across several neighborhoods.
“The main thing is to just keep God close and to keep your head on a swivel,” one Mobile resident told reporters. “It’s going to be danger everywhere, but it’s a little scary at times to think that it’s getting closer to home.”
Three Days of Violence Across Mobile
The wave of violence began on November 14, when officers responded to Bizzell Avenue around 5:30 p.m. for a stabbing that left one man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Police have not announced any arrests in that case.
Shortly afterward, another shooting occurred on Jack Treadwell Lane following an argument. The victim sustained minor injuries, and no suspects have been apprehended.
Later that evening, authorities arrested Ledell Koen for allegedly shooting a man on Linwood Drive after another dispute. The victim is expected to survive, and Koen has been charged with first-degree assault.
Deadly Stabbing and Repeat Offender Arrested
On the morning of November 15, Tyrone Harris allegedly broke down a woman’s door on Glenwood Street and stabbed her multiple times. Police confirmed she was hospitalized with serious injuries. Jail records reveal Harris has been arrested four times this year on domestic violence charges.
The most recent incident turned deadly on November 16 when Nicholas White reportedly stabbed Terrance Sims on Old Pascagoula Road. Sims later died at the hospital, and White has since been charged with murder.
Community and Police Response
Mobile residents are expressing growing fear and frustration over the spike in violent crime. Police are calling on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity, emphasizing that cooperation is critical to restoring community safety.
Authorities continue to investigate several of the attacks that remain unsolved. Anyone with information is urged to contact Mobile Police at their tip line or USA campus police regarding the shooting involving Christian Love.
