Pedestrian Struck Dead on New Year’s Eve; Victim Not Identified

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a tow truck driver in Spring Valley on Sunday night, resulting in his death.

At around 8 p.m., CHP responded to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on southbound State Route 125, somewhat north of Jamacha Road. The driver of a tow truck who was the pedestrian was later declared dead.

The collision resulted in the closure of southbound lanes on SR-125. As of 10:25 p.m., all lanes were once again available.

According to CHP, the accident was no hit-and-run case. The identity of the victim is not released by the authorities. There was no more information available at the moment.
