Patrick Mahomes’s “winning culture” entices Marquise Brown to sign with the Chiefs

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted three biceps emojis in response to the news that Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was heading to Kansas City.

The new Chiefs wide receiver and quarterback Patrick Mahomes clearly see a bright future together as they prepare to defend their Super Bowl title.

The Chiefs are interested in Brown because of his field-stretching talents. The Chiefs’ offensive was remarkably lackluster compared to last season, despite Kansas City’s second consecutive Super Bowl victory.

So, Brown’s signing may be a huge help in big plays. He’s 26 years old.

According to NFL Research, Brown tied for third in the NFL from 2019 to 2021 with eleven receiving touchdowns of 20 yards or more while playing for the Baltimore Ravens. While playing for the Arizona Cardinals for two years, he caught three touchdown passes of 20 yards or more, but his splash scores decreased.

Brown is eager to start working with Mahomes and hopes to use his one-year contract to show that he is still an ace on big plays.

“From the outside looking in he seems like a guy that is very passionate, and I’m a very passionate person,” Brown said of Mahomes. “He wants to win, (he’ll) do everything necessary to win. That’s somebody you want to play with, you want to play with someone who will bring the best out of you that’s going to push your game to the next level. I feel like he’s definitely one of those types of guys.”

In the previous two years, Brown has missed eight games. Last year, he had his worst receiving performance to date with 51 receptions for 574 yards.
