Several passengers on an American Airlines aircraft to North Carolina on Wednesday intervened to help a woman sat in first class escape her allegedly aggressive male travel companion.
A distressing video shows many guys and a female flight attendant yelling at the alleged aggressor to remove his hands from the woman in the first-class cabin on flight AA310 from Miami to Charlotte.
Three men leaned over the seat to confront the man, while several flight attendants stood in the aisle.
“Do not f–king touch her,” one man loudly shouted in the man’s face before he seemed to give an inaudible excuse. “I don’t give a f–k. Look at me, you f–ked up. You don’t f–king touch her.”
A second man shouted that the woman’s seatmate will be arrested.
The first man asks the woman if she is all right before the passengers direct her to another empty seat away from her companion.
According to the tape, when she moved across the aisle, the alleged aggressor yelled that the woman assaulted him and smacked him.
The second man who intervened stands in the aisle between the two while other passengers return to their seats and the plane settles down.
The airplane arrived 26 minutes early, but Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were waiting at the airport and entered the cabin before the passengers deplaned.
According to American Airlines and a second video uploaded by Singh, the authorities removed the couple off the plane before gathering witness testimony from fellow passengers.
“Two customers traveling together were engaged in an altercation aboard American Airlines flight 310, with service from Miami (MIA) to Charlotte (CLT) on Oct. 2. Local law enforcement responded and escorted the customers from the CLT airport,” a spokesperson for the airline said.
“We do not tolerate violence, and we thank our team members for their professionalism in managing a difficult situation.”
