After the conversation allegedly descended into violence, a Texas couple who met with the parents of a young girl dating their son were taken into custody.
Following an incident the previous day, 39-year-old Luther Madison II and 39-year-old Angelica Madison were both charged with aggravated assault on March 18. The couple was meeting with two other parents who wanted to talk about the romantic relationship between each of the two spouses’ children, according to a statement from Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
According to the police, one of the four parents was carrying a pistol when the Madisons’ teenage son started dating the unnamed other couple’s teenage daughter.
The two couples met “to ask [the Madisons] for help in keeping [their] son away from their daughter as she is too young to be dating,” the constable said. Although no particulars regarding the alleged escalation were provided, the discussion heated up and descended into a “verbal and physical altercation” outside the Madisons’ home in Hockley, which is roughly 35 miles northwest of Houston.
Angelica Madison allegedly carried the revolver to the meeting and carried it in her pocket, according to the police. Police claimed that she eventually handed the gun to Luther Madison, who allegedly shot the husband in the chest before pointing the weapon at the wife and threatening to shoot her as well.
According to authorities, the spouse had been shot in the chest when deputies arrived on the scene. The Constable said the suspected victim was airlifted to the hospital in another Facebook post. The public was not informed of his health.
Both Luther and Angelica Madison were taken into custody and accused with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. They were bailed out after being booked into the Harris County Jail. On May 20, both parents are expected to appear in court again.
