New York Daycare Worker Arrested after He Dragged Kid Across Floor in Salina; Faces Charges

The court documents from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office concerning the arrest of two employees at the Shining Stars Daycare in Salina for child abuse last month.

Documents reveal that a 23-year-old woman named Khadija Abukar has been taken into custody and faces charges related to child welfare and harassment.

The criminal complaint details an incident where Abukar forcefully seized a child’s arm, pulling him across the floor on his knees and stomach while yelling at him for causing a disturbance.

Additionally, the documents revealed that a 19-year-old named Kaylen Chartier faced charges related to the welfare of a child in a different case.

Reports indicate that Chartier compelled a child into a chair and shoved the chair against a table, resulting in a red mark on the child’s abdomen.

Chartier is scheduled to return to court on November 14, while Abukar will appear again on December 12.
