Honk News (Farmington, NM) – A lengthy investigation has concluded with a couple from New Mexico being sentenced to prison, as they face several felony charges related to the abuse of one of their children.
On February 18, Jammy Jackson, 58, and Patricia Madrid, 36, were taken into custody following an investigation by Child Protective Services regarding accusations of abuse involving their 15-year-old daughter.
Court documents reveal that the teenager claimed she was reportedly confined in an outdoor chicken coop for several months, receiving only packaged ramen noodles as sustenance. The other children of the couple did not experience the same purported treatment.
The Farmington Police Department issued a statement revealing that detectives received a lead in their investigation from Child Protective Services on September 16, 2024, following concerns regarding the well-being of a 15-year-old.

The Farmington Police stated, “Reports suggested that the child was confined in a chicken coop for long durations and subjected to severe weather conditions.”

Recent court filings have uncovered further claims of mistreatment towards the teenager, highlighting that she was reportedly given only packaged ramen noodles, while the other children in the home enjoyed a variety of food options. The documents further claimed that the supposed victim had access to the bathroom only two times each day.

Authorities in Farmington have confirmed the claims made by the 15-year-old girl, leading to her removal from the residence. The fate of the other children residing in the household remains uncertain.
On February 18, Jackson and Madrid were taken into custody and faced 14 felony charges, which include child abuse and conspiracy to commit child abuse. Both individuals are currently detained at the San Juan County Adult Detention Center with no option for bail.
