Nebraska Man Squeezed 2-month-old Baby Girl so Hard that His Arms were Trembling; Charged after Baby’s Tragic Demise

A Lincoln resident is facing charges in district court for alleged abuse of a baby.

A judge has determined that there is enough evidence to proceed with the trial of Robert Herbert, a 35-year-old individual, in the case.

In March, a 2-month-old baby was brought to the children’s hospital in Omaha.

According to the police, the girl experienced difficulty breathing and her complexion changed after Herbert attempted to alleviate her congestion by forcing water into her nasal passages.

Medical professionals have noted additional injuries in the baby, including a skull fracture, seven broken ribs, and various bruises.

Court documents indicate that the skull fracture was a result of blunt force trauma.

A recent incident involving a baby has come to light, where it is alleged that Herbert applied excessive force while attempting to assist the baby with defecation, causing his arms to tremble.

Court documents state that he also struck the girl in the head with a car seat “out of frustration.”

Herbert faces charges of intentional child abuse resulting in injury.

The arraignment in Lancaster County District Court has been scheduled for Sept. 25.
