A city resident faces more than twenty years in prison due to unsettling behavior in 2022.
This week, Oscar Oberlino Gomez Miralda, 43, received a 25-year prison sentence for committing first-degree aggravated sexual assault against a 5-year-old girl. He is required to spend seven years behind bars for jeopardizing a child’s well-being through sexual actions.
Due to the stipulations of the Jessica Lunsford Act, Gomez Miralda is required to serve a minimum of 25 years before being eligible for parole. He will subsequently be required to register as a sex offender and will be under lifelong parole supervision.
In June, a jury in Atlantic County ruled that Gomez Miralda engaged in an “act of sexual penetration” in December 2022.
The individual was involved with the child’s mother, and they cohabited in Atlantic City.
Authorities reported that the incident was recorded on a camera phone monitoring the child’s bedroom.
