Missouri Mother Arrested after Forcing Malnourished Son to Lay on Cold Ground with Hands Tied Behind His Back

Honk News (St. Louis, MO) – A Missouri mother has been arrested following accusations that she zip-tied her 5-year-old son behind his back and made him lie on the ground with his pants down for hours during the night.

Alease Teariel Chambers, 26, faces serious allegations of child abuse and kidnapping. Disturbing claims emerged on Monday after a friend of Chambers stayed overnight at their residence the day before. The individual who reported the incident claimed that Chambers imposed “harsh” punishments on the boy, as noted by detectives from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in a probable cause affidavit.

Detectives reported that on several instances, Chambers compelled her son to clench his fists and struck his knuckles with her phone. A friend has also claimed that Chambers forced the boy to perform wall squats for an excessive duration, surpassing what is typical for military training. The accused reportedly confined the child in a closet and obstructed the exit with a dresser.

At approximately 3 a.m., the friend reportedly heard the boy “screaming, crying, and pleading.” Later that morning, the friend observed that the boy was missing from his room where he usually was with his brothers.

The boy was found on the floor with his hands bound behind him and his pants around his ankles, according to police reports. A friend documented the boy’s situation, according to police reports. His body was adorned with marks and bruises. Chambers eventually acknowledged that the boy was left zip-tied for a duration of two to three hours, according to the affidavit.

Authorities were informed by the other children in the residence that Chambers physically assaults the boy using “belts, cords and hangers” and confined him to the closet, according to police reports. Chambers reportedly confessed to mistreating the boy for “sneaking food.” Authorities reported that the boy was transported to the hospital and admitted due to malnutrition.

Authorities have observed that Chambers is facing charges related to theft. She is currently located at the St. Louis County Justice Center. The upcoming court appearance is set for February 26.
