Honk News (Roseville, MN) – A Minnesota mother has escaped a prison sentence following her conviction for the sexual abuse of two 15-year-old boys at a hotel last year.
On Monday, the Minnesota Star Tribune shared that Allison Schardin, 39, received a sentence of two weekends in jail along with 200 hours of community service for her offenses, which occurred last January at a hotel in Roseville, Minn. A report reveals that a mother of two encountered a group of 15-year-old hockey players from Colorado in a hotel hot tub, subsequently leading to allegations of abuse involving two of the players in their room.
During Schardin’s trial, prosecutors revealed that she was at the hotel with her husband and two children for what was described as a “staycation” on the night of the alleged abuse, according to reports.

Reports indicate that, during their time in the hot tub, Schardin shared with the boys her struggles in her marriage. Afterward, she reached out via Snapchat to one of the boys visiting for a hockey tournament, mentioning a disagreement with her husband and expressing a desire to stay in their room, where she subsequently arrived and initiated a conversation about intimacy.

Upon her arrest on February 1, 2024, Schardin confessed to engaging in sexual contact with the boys, according to reports from various outlets. Following the incident at the hotel, Schardin reportedly appeared at one of the boys’ hockey games and sent them messages upon their return to Colorado.
On Monday, the Star Tribune revealed that prosecutors urged the court to consider the defendant’s actions as equally serious as if the defendant were male and the victims were female.
Prosecutors told the court that it is hard to imagine many accepting leniency if the genders were switched.
The prosecutors highlighted that the boys “lost friends, and they have had to endure whispers and harmful comments from others, as if they were the perpetrators,” due to Schardin’s assault.
