Authorities reported the discovery of two bodies inside a freezer located in an abandoned townhome in Michigan last week. A troubling finding was uncovered on Thursday at a residence in East Lansing.
Authorities reported responding to a residence on Wintercrest Street regarding what they described as a “suspicious situation.”
Authorities reported that a 911 call was made after someone noticed blood on the floor within the home. Upon arrival, the officers verified the presence of blood on the floor as well.
During their investigation of the residence, authorities discovered a human body concealed within a chest freezer. A duffel bag was discovered in the freezer, holding the remains of another body.
A neighbor, wishing to remain anonymous, expressed that the situation is “deeply troubling.”
“It’s like super disturbing to know that we’ve been sleeping a thin wall away from multiple corpses,” the neighbor said.
Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the remains, and forensic analysis is currently underway at a crime lab.
Police report that there are no leads or suspects, but they are confident this incident is isolated and poses no threat to the community.
Authorities are looking into the fatalities as potential homicides. From the outset, the neighbor expressed his increased concern over the absence of a chest freezer in the home.

“None of these units have giant freezers. Somebody brought a massive freezer big enough to hold two human beings in it and put it in this unit. Which is super weird,” he said.
Residents are puzzled, as they believed the house had been vacant for several months.
“There has been no activity in and out of this home. All the mail and stuff that was stuck in the door was in the exact same place that it’s been for months. Our doorbell camera hasn’t picked up any movement, any activity,” the neighbor said.
