Michigan Man Arrested for Distribution of Child Sexual Assault Material: Authorities

A man from Gregory in Livingston County has been taken into custody for reportedly possessing and distributing aggravated child sexual abuse material.

On Friday, Sept. 20, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, along with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, reported the arrest of 24-year-old Dillon Foss from Gregory. This action followed an investigation initiated by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Authorities reported that Foss faces three counts related to aggravated child sexual abuse activity, three counts concerning the possession of aggravated child sexual abuse material, and three counts for using a computer to commit a crime, which carries a potential sentence of 10 to 20 years.

Foss appeared in court on September 15.

If found guilty, Foss could receive a maximum sentence of 15 years for aggravated child sexual abusive activity (distributing or promoting), up to 10 years for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and up to 10 years for using a computer to commit a crime.

Authorities urge parents to discuss online safety with their kids and utilize available tools to protect everyone.
