Miami-Dade Police Arrest 41-Year-Old Man For Recording Teen While Showering.

Authorities report that a teenager with a knack for technology outsmarted a suspected voyeur who allegedly filmed her without consent while she was showering.

A woman in Miami-Dade had a disturbing encounter when she found a man lying on the ground and peering under her bathroom door. The incident took place in a home near the 12000 block of Southwest 151st Street, around 5 p.m. on Jan. 15. The man involved was identified as Juan Carlos Sequeira-Urbino, 41, of Miami.

According to an arrest report, the victim informed detectives about two prior incidents where she heard a disturbance near the bathroom door while she was showering.

During the second incident, the authorities noted that she saw Sequeira-Urbino’s cellphone on the floor while she was showering.

During a third incident, the victim captured footage of Sequeira-Urbino using her own cellphone. He was observed watching her from underneath the door.

According to the report, after the victim showered, she waited in her room for her mother. It was during this time that Sequeira-Urbino requested her not to disclose the incident to her mother or his wife.

After taking Sequeira-Urbino to their Kendall district police station for questioning, Miami-Dade police stated that he exercised his right to counsel and declined to communicate with detectives.

According to jail records, he is currently facing charges related to video voyeurism involving a child who is 16 years of age or older, as well as a separate voyeurism charge.

As of Friday, Sequeira-Urbino is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with no bond set as of Friday afternoon.
