Man Wanted on Child Molestation Charges Killed Himself after Police Standoff: Authorities

Honk News (Jackson County, OR) – A suspect facing a warrant with multiple charges related to child sex abuse reportedly took their own life over the weekend after a short standoff with law enforcement, as stated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 36-year-old man from Grants Pass, Franklin Jame Hodson, was involved in a domestic dispute on March 16, during which he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun on Orr Drive in rural Central Point, Oregon.

Authorities reported that law enforcement discovered Hodson’s location and tried to apprehend him, but he managed to escape in a vehicle; this occurred around 2:10 p.m., according to JCSO.

Not long after, deputies from the JCSO and US Marshals executed a high-risk traffic stop at the junction of Orr Drive and Table Rock Rd.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that Hodson is sought in California on 15 charges related to child sex abuse, including a felony warrant for 10 counts of lewd and lascivious acts involving a child under 14, as well as five counts of oral copulation with a child under 14.
