Man Tried to Kill Partner but Left Another Woman in Pool of Blood as He Crashed His Car: Houston Police

A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Aug. 18, when a woman lost her life while walking home from work.

A tragic incident occurred outside a nightclub in Houston, resulting in the loss of a woman’s life. The unfortunate incident occurred in the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 18.

According to witnesses at the scene on San Jacinto St., a driver, later identified as Sanden James George by the Houston Police Department, was involved in a physical altercation with another woman. The driver allegedly made an intentional attempt to strike her with the vehicle, as reported by a spokesperson for the HPD to PEOPLE magazine.

According to authorities, a tragic incident occurred where an innocent bystander lost their life, allegedly due to the actions of George, 35.

In a recent statement, the HPD announced that George has been charged with murder and assault on a family member.

Authorities were alerted to the incident at 3 a.m. following reports of an auto-pedestrian collision near the nightclub location.

“An initial investigation, evidence from the scene, and witness statements determined a male suspect got into a physical altercation with a woman, 24, before attempting to intentionally strike her with his vehicle,” HPD’s statement read. The unidentified 24-year-old woman was not seriously injured, per police.

“The suspect’s vehicle struck another woman and he fled on foot,” the HPD statement alleged.

A 41-year-old woman was the victim. According to a statement, George received medical attention at a nearby hospital before being apprehended by the police.

The victim’s identity is currently being verified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

A spokesperson for the Houston Fire Department confirmed the unfortunate news of her passing at the scene, as reported by PEOPLE.
