Man Took Boy to Bathroom and Molested Him as He Did Something to Upset Him; Charged by Wisconsin Authorities

Honk News (Milwaukee, WI) – A Milwaukee Public Schools staff member faces charges of third-degree sexual assault and child enticement following an alleged incident that took place in a New Berlin warehouse in 2023.

Keelyn Tyler, aged 38, is facing charges related to an alleged incident that occurred in October, involving a child. The child’s mother claims that Tyler had been mentoring her child from June 2023 until the time of the alleged incident.

A criminal complaint revealed that the child confided in his sister regarding the incident with Tyler, having initially shared with his mother that he had a dream featuring Tyler. According to prosecutors, on a date in October 2023, Tyler collected the child from school and transported him to the warehouse located at 2602 South 162nd Street in New Berlin, which he had purchased for his business.

The allegation states that during the child’s cleaning activities at the property, he did something that displeased Tyler. The individual subsequently took the child into the bathroom, where the reported incident occurred, and secured the door.

In a conversation with investigators, the child recounted that Tyler asked him following the assault, “Do you think anyone will believe you?” This prompted an emotional response from the child, who then chose not to elaborate on the incident.

The mother of the child recounted to investigators an incident from late October 2023, where her son had been “roughed up” by Tyler, noting bruises on the child’s back as he expressed a desire to no longer see Tyler.

A representative for MPS stated that the district refrains from discussing the situations of individual staff members. As of Thursday afternoon, Tyler remains on the roster as an assistant basketball coach at Alexander Hamilton High School.

Tyler has been released after posting a bond of $5,000; he could face a maximum of 35 years in prison if found guilty of the charges against him.
