Honk News (ST. LOUIS, MO) – A man from northeast Missouri has been taken into custody and faces charges of child abuse following an incident in which he allegedly slammed a boy’s head against a door.
On Wednesday, police took Jordan Tyler Heimer, 30, into custody in La Plata, Mo.
He faces a charge of child abuse or neglect, classified as a class D felony.
Officers received a call from the Macon County Children’s Division about a hotline report concerning potential abuse, as stated in court documents.
An 11-year-old boy shared in an interview that Heimer made him stand with his hands against the door during a disciplinary action.
Heimer grew upset and placed his arm around the boy’s neck to hold him back.
A boy attempted to escape, but Heimer reportedly seized him by the neck and struck his head against the door multiple times, between three and five.
Officers noted a bump on the left side of the boy’s head and bruising on his left hand, according to court documents.
Heimer stated that he disciplined the boy for watching TV instead of preparing for school. He acknowledged that he pushed the boy against the door with more force than he meant to and spanked him four times.
Heimer spent a day in the Macon County Jail and has been released after posting a $20,000 cash bond. He is prohibited from contacting the alleged victims or any minors under 17 years old.
