Honk News (Riverside, CA) – A 16-year-old pregnant girl in California was tragically killed by a 19-year-old man after she confronted him about having sex with her underage sister. A neighbor’s doorbell camera recorded her family’s heartbreaking reaction to the alleged hit-and-run incident.
Issac Blackhorse Garcia, from Riverside, is charged with the murder of a teenage girl on February 2 at approximately 11:45 p.m. that Sunday night, as reported by police. Residents observed the scene following the reported hit-and-run, noticing the pregnant victim on the ground afterward.
Her family was seen on video rushing to her just moments after Blackhorse Garcia reportedly left the scene. A baby girl was born at the hospital and is currently in critical condition.
The video captures the victim’s family rushing over and crying out in shock upon witnessing the incident.
“There was a car that just flew really fast through here,” neighbor Miriam Betamen told KABC. “We saw a girl that was right on the street, just laying flat.”
When officers arrived, they discovered the pregnant woman and quickly transported her to a nearby hospital due to “severe injuries,” but she unfortunately passed away later. The Riverside Police Department announced in a press release on Thursday that the medical staff has delivered her baby, who is currently in critical condition. “Authorities found the suspect vehicle in Moreno Valley and arrested the driver.”

During the investigation into the death of the pregnant teenager, authorities found that Blackhorse Garcia was involved in a “sexual relationship” with the victim’s teenage sister. “When he dropped the sister off at home, family members approached his vehicle,” Riverside PD reported. “Blackhorse Garcia then sped away, striking the victim with his car.”
The baby of the girl remained in “critical condition” at a nearby children’s hospital as of Friday. Neighbors shared with the station that her mother frequently took walks around the area.
“We would see her walking through the neighborhood getting some exercise,” recalled resident Christopher Garrett. “We just saw them that previous day before the tragedy,” he said of the girl and one of her relatives. “Her and her sister, and they were like laughing.”
Blackhorse Garcia has been taken into custody and is now at the Robert Presley Detention Center facing charges that include murder, hit-and-run leading to death, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. He was held without bail.
