Tragically, a woman in Georgia lost three children, ages 9, 11, and 13. Their bodies were found in a park in Gwinnett County, Georgia, around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, along with the body of a man.
Gwinnett County Police said in a statement on Wednesday that Arianny Arias Rodriguez, 13, Carlos Michelle Rodriguez, 9, and Chadal Rodriguez, 11, were all found dead in a car with the person they think shot them. They think it was a murder-suicide.
Police have named the person they think shot the mother of the children as Jose Plasencia, 56, who used to be with her.
Gwinnett County police say that the children’s mother, Karina Rodriguez, was at the hospital with one of her other children for a separate injury at the time of the killing. He was the father of that child.

The four kids and their mother were at the hospital earlier when Plasencia met them, according to the police.
Police say that Karina “agreed to let the three children go” with Plasencia to get food at one point. It wasn’t clear right away how long Plasencia had had the kids.
Police said in an earlier version of their statement that around 1 a.m. Wednesday, an officer on an area patrol saw what he thought was a “suspicious vehicle” on the Lucky Shoals Park walking track. The four bodies were inside the car.
Police think it was a murder-suicide, but they are still waiting for the medical examiner’s office for confirmation.
