A man from Washington State has been arrested and is now in custody for the alleged murder of his girlfriend. According to authorities, the incident occurred while the man was under the influence of Molly, a drug. The motive for the crime was reportedly the girlfriend’s unusual behavior.
Andy Chu, a 25-year-old individual, is currently facing a serious charge of first-degree murder in connection with the unfortunate passing of Zoey Suyun. He is also 25 years old. Chu’s neighbors contacted emergency services just before 10:30 a.m. on August 10th due to water leakage from his condominium and their inability to reach him, as stated in a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime. Firefighters in Seattle discovered a deceased woman in a state of undress on the floor of a bathroom in the 3100 block of NE 133rd Street.
According to reports, she had an ice pack on her throat and a block supporting the back of her head. According to the affidavit, a granular substance, later identified as Acai powder, was found all over her body. The victim had sustained significant injuries to her face, head, neck, and chest, as reported by the police. He was identified by detectives using her Hawaii driver’s license. The bathtub was filled to the brim while the sink was gushing with water. Water was found on the floor and stairs.
According to a video captured by a neighbor, Chu and He were seen arriving at his condo with groceries at around 4:45 p.m. on August 9th. According to the affidavit, Chu departed from the residence unaccompanied at approximately 8 a.m. on August 10th. According to reports from neighbors, Chu surprised everyone by returning their trash bins to the property after the garbage was picked up, something he had never done before.
In the early hours of August 11th, officers were alerted to an incident at the University of Washington Medical Center in Ballard. According to reports, a nurse was allegedly groped by a patient. According to the affidavit, the individual brought to the hospital for “psychotic behavior” was identified as Chu and was accompanied by friends. After identifying Chu, the police promptly escorted him to the Seattle Police Headquarters for questioning.
According to the police, Chu’s account after Miranda was described as “quite fragmented and difficult to follow at times.”
Chu described a challenging situation that led him to temporarily leave his condominium. The affidavit stated that he would describe things and occasionally express uncertainty about whether they were real or not.
According to reports, Chu mentioned that he and his girlfriend, who resides in Hawaii, had recently returned from their trip. According to the affidavit, Chu expressed his belief that he may have caused her death.

However, he refused or was unable to provide details about the attack and insisted that they were not arguing at the time of the murder, as detectives observed.
Chu reportedly acknowledged consuming two Molly pills, commonly referred to as Ecstasy or MDMA, as well as using marijuana. Authorities report the presence of bruises and abrasions on his knuckles, knees, legs, and elbows.
Detectives also interviewed Chu’s friends who accompanied him to the hospital. According to reports, it was mentioned that Chu was observed “moving his arms and making noises.”
An autopsy revealed that despite experiencing blunt force trauma throughout her body, no fractures were found.
The cause of death has been determined to be asphyxiation, according to medical examiners. Chu is facing not only a murder charge, but also a battery charge for allegedly groping the nurse. He is currently being held at the King County Jail with a bond set at $5 million.
