Police say a 54-year-old man from Idaho Falls has been arrested for beating a lady, holding her against her will, and leading them on a fast-paced pursuit.
Colby Heaton, a wanted individual, was taken into custody by the Idaho Falls Police Department on Monday morning.
A woman stopped a stranger in the 300 block of 14th Street on Saturday just before 5 p.m. According to a news release, she claimed to have just fled Heaton and requested to use the person’s phone to dial 911. Officers came.
Officers were informed by the victim that Heaton had detained her in his house without her will since Wednesday. Heaton was psychotic, schizophrenic, and not taking his medicine, she informed them.
According to the woman, Heaton thought she was having multiple affairs and was using “hand signals” to communicate with the police. According to reports, he made her remain in constant sight.
Heaton had several locks on the door, she said. Heaton is accused of beating the victim with his fists, a wooden dowel, a flashlight, and a closed folding knife between Wednesday and Saturday. She said that Heaton had also headbutted and bitten her.
The woman informed police that when someone else came to the house to get a tool, she was able to get away.
Upon receiving medical attention, an examination revealed that she had two black eyes, a brain bleed, multiple bruises, and perhaps broken bones in her hand.
