In connection with allegations that he sexually assaulted two young children and provided them with methamphetamine, a man from Branch County is currently facing the possibility of incarceration.
It was stated by Attorney General Dana Nessel that in 2019, the Branch County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed charges against Anthony Cuyler, 46, for allegedly sexually assaulting two kids, ages 11 and 12 years old. The allegations were made by the prosecuting attorney’s office.
The guy was eventually captured in Mexico after fleeing authorities for a considerable amount of time. Subsequently, in June, the individual was taken back to Branch County, as confirmed by officials from the department.
The charges are:
- Three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct
- One count of delivery of meth to a minor
- One count of possession of meth
- One count of possession of ammunition by a felon
In response to the allegations, Cuyler was given the order to appear in court on Thursday.
It is anticipated that the Department of Attorney General will be the one to take control of the prosecution in this particular instance.
“Survivors of sexual assault deserve to see their abusers brought to justice, and in some cases that requires extraordinary and unusual efforts,” Nessel said. “I am grateful to local law enforcement, the Branch County prosecuting attorneys, and especially the U.S. Marshals Service for bringing this man home to face criminal accountability.”
The following court hearing for Cuyler is set to take place on August 12th.
