Man detained in connection with the gunshot that left two Ohio police officers injured

The guy accused of shooting and injuring two police officers has been detained, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

According to our news partner WBNS, Daevonte Dixon shot himself in the moments preceding his arrest and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Bodycam footage captured the moment a man opened fire on two Ohio police officers last week.

According to Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin, two Mifflin Township police officers conducted a traffic stop near Mecca Road and Perdue Avenue around 6:45 p.m.

The passenger got out of the car and started running.

“When officers pursued the suspect, he turned around and opened fire, hitting both officers,” according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Daevonte Dixon, 21, was brought into prison on Friday.

The sheriff’s office stated that the car’s driver has cooperated with investigations and is not currently facing any charges.

Dixon is charged with attempted murder and felonious assault in connection with the incident.
