Fort Worth, Texas: Authorities arrested a man after he killed another man with firewood. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 13, as stated in a police affidavit.
The officers found a man lying in the front yard after they reached the reported location. The man was pronounced dead on the spot.
An affidavit states that he suffered from serious blunt-force trauma to the head. The man brought firewood in a U-Haul after the homeowner asked for it. The homeowner said he knew the victim. Both the homeowner and the victim, Scott, started unloading the firewood as soon as the U-Haul arrived. A naked man showed up and claimed that it was his house and that he had keys for the same.
Scott and the homeowner instructed the nude man to go, but he grabbed up a piece of wood and quickly struck Scott in the head. He then hit the householder in the head.
The naked man then pursued the homeowner, who made it inside and contacted 911. According to the affidavit, while on the phone with 911, he witnessed the nude man continue to attack Scott before dumping a wheelbarrow on him.
Multiple other neighbors reported seeing the naked man enter another home on Wendover Drive that serves as an Airbnb, renting out individual rooms to guests.
When cops approached the Airbnb, they heard yelling from inside. The naked man then came outdoors and introduced himself as Chrisantus Omondi, 27.
According to the affidavit, Omondi responded aggressively to the officer’s demands. Officers had to tase him He was detained, and transported to JPS Hospital for evaluation.
Omondi faces charges of murder, criminal assault on a security officer, and obstruction or retaliation. His bond currently stands at $312,000.
