A couple from Florida has been arrested following an incident where they reportedly assaulted a man who sought to engage in sexual activity while restrained on the beach.
A man in a state of distress approached a Volusia County Sheriff’s deputy around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of Ocean Shore Boulevard in Ormond by the Sea, as detailed in a probable cause arrest affidavit.
He was bleeding from various parts of his body. A man reported to a deputy that he was attacked by a man and a woman while at the beach.
According to the affidavit, he stated that he and an 18-year-old woman named Alana Cagle had made arrangements to meet at the beach, where she would bind him before they engaged in sexual activity. Cagle arrived at his house, and they made their way to Bicentennial Park. After parking the car, he mentioned they strolled to the beach.
Upon arriving at the beach, he began to sense some unusual feelings from Cagle, who was positioned about 5 feet away from him. Despite everything, she pulled out a yellow rope she had with her and started to secure him.
The affidavit stated that at this moment, the victim noticed another man coming towards them. He attempted to free himself, but Cagle leaped onto his legs. He managed to fend her off and started to flee. However, the other individual, who was later recognized as 24-year-old Wayne Streeter, pursued him and brought him down.

Streeter reportedly started to choke him as Cagle struck him in the face. According to deputies, Cagle subsequently brandished a hatchet and struck him repeatedly across his body.
Authorities report that the victim successfully defended against both suspects and sought assistance. Authorities reported that they identified Cagle’s vehicle and subsequently stopped her nearby, finding Streeter inside. A backpack was reportedly left behind by the victim. Officials attempted to communicate with Cagle, but she asked for legal representation, according to their statement.
After the Miranda warning, Streeter informed detectives that he and Cagle are in a romantic relationship. Cagle gave Streeter a ride, and they headed to the beach together. He reported witnessing an unfamiliar man shove Cagle to the ground on the beach, prompting him to rush to her aid.
According to the affidavit, Streeter acknowledged that while no weapons were involved, he did admit to choking the victim.
Authorities arrived at the beach and discovered blood along with a yellow rope that was used to restrain the victim. He sustained several cuts and “multiple long gashes” to his abdomen. Emergency responders transported him to the medical facility, where physicians attended to his wounds.
Authorities took Cagle and Streeter into custody for charges related to aggravated battery involving a deadly weapon. They have both posted a bond of $5,000. Court dates are set for November 26.
