Man Arrested for Molestation Spree in Nevada and California; Slapped with Charges by Authorities

Honk News (Douglas County, NV) – A 24-year-old man named Thomas Humiston has been taken into custody by law enforcement in Douglas County, Nevada, facing two felony charges related to serious sexual offenses allegedly committed in Beltrami County and subsequently in California.

A statement from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office reveals that in the summer of 2024, investigators launched an inquiry following a report of abuse, focusing on claims of sexual misconduct involving two distinct victims, aged 8 and 10.

A 24-year-old named Thomas Humiston has been identified as the suspect, according to the release. At the time of the report, he resided in Douglas County, Nevada.

The inquiry uncovered that the inappropriate behavior took place for approximately two years in Beltrami County and subsequently persisted in the Hung A Lel Ti Community in Alpine County, California.

Authorities worked in collaboration with the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office, according to the statement. Authorities have established sufficient grounds to believe that Humiston was involved in sexual offenses in Beltrami County.

Given the seriousness of the alleged offenses and their occurrence across various states, investigators collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

On January 28, 2025, a nationwide arrest warrant was issued by the Beltrami County Attorney’s Office for Humiston, who faces two felony charges related to first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor under the age of 13.

Two days later, Humiston was taken into custody without any complications by officers from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department at a local business.

Authorities from the Northern Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce carried out a search warrant at Humiston’s home, according to the announcement. Humiston is still in custody and is waiting to be extradited back to Beltrami County.

The ACSO is actively looking into the reported sexual misconduct involving Humiston during his time in Alpine County, California.
