Honk News (Scott County, IA) – A man from Davenport has been taken into custody following allegations of sexual abuse involving a family member.
The criminal complaint reveals that on January 4, the Davenport Police Department was alerted to a report of a sexual assault. Authorities conducted an investigation and established sufficient grounds to suspect that the individual, named Michael Edler, 39, engaged in inappropriate contact with the victim without her consent and against her will.
Edler confessed to the actions during an interview after the Miranda warning.
Edler faces serious legal consequences after being arrested and charged with felony third-degree sexual abuse and incest. After posting a secured bond of $15,000, he has been released and is now waiting for his first court appearance.
