Man and Woman Arrested after Several Inappropriate Photos of Senior Patients were Found on Devices in North Carolina

Honk News (Mocksville, NC) – A woman has been charged with multiple sex offenses for allegedly taking inappropriate photos at a senior living facility in Mocksville, while a man has also been arrested in connection with these incidents, as reported by the David County Sheriff’s Office.

On December 13, law enforcement officials arrived at Mocksville Senior Living on Hospital Street following reports of a suspected altercation involving Ronnie Mccoy, 40, and Cindy Gale Rice, 41, both residents of Mocksville.

“Basically an assault call between the two folks that have now been arrested. They were boyfriend/girlfriend … She was at work. He showed up at work and got into an argument. Left in a car together. Then he wouldn’t let her out of the car, so deputies were following up on that,” Davie County Sheriff JD Hartman said.

Rice held a position at the facility, specifically in the memory care unit.

As the investigation unfolded, deputies were shown a video that Rice had sent to other staff members in a group chat.

The footage depicted Rice engaging in inappropriate contact with a patient’s breast. Rice has been arrested and is facing charges of second-degree forcible sexual offense. She was transported to the Davie County Detention Center and assigned a secured bond of $25,000.

“Some of them can’t communicate or can’t tell you what exactly is going on or even have any knowledge of what is going on. So they’re really the most vulnerable population, and that’s what really makes it so sad,” Hartman said.

Authorities confiscated Rice’s cell phone and secured a search warrant for it. Detectives from the DCSO proceeded to examine the images and messages stored on the cell phone, uncovering numerous pictures of female patients in the process.

The images depicted women in various states of undress, with some showering completely nude and others partially nude while using the restroom. Investigators successfully obtained text messages exchanged between Rice and another individual, revealing their exchange of images.

The messages revealed that the individual was requesting and specifying the kinds of photographs to be captured and forwarded to him.

Rice faced the following charges:

  • seven counts of misdemeanor secret peeping

  • six counts of felony secret peeping

  • three additional counts of second-degree forcible sexual offense

Rice is currently being held in the Davie County Detention Center without bond on the new charges, as there are pending charges against him.
