Albuquerque, NM: Over the past month, Isidro Gallegos has been occupied with destructive activities throughout Albuquerque. “His arrest that day substantially reduced the number of armed robberies in two distinct area commands with a single arrest,” said Albuquerque Police Department Commander Kyle Hartsock.
The 15th of March saw the arrest of Gallegos on multiple armed robbery allegations. Since then, he has been tied to at least 15 others by the police. Hartsock stated, “Once he was apprehended, our detectives interviewed him and piece together those 15 other robberies that had already been reported to police, using his description, clothing, and the vehicle he was in as a guide.”
He is accused of robbing filling stations, motels, and businesses, as well as carjacking a victim, at gunpoint, between February 5 and March 15. The majority of these offenses, according to the police, were committed in stolen vehicles. “He is engaging in the act of car theft, specifically targeting vehicles that are easy to steal. He is committing recurring robberies that follow a pattern, and our actions were the only ones that could deter him.”

The criminal complaint alleges that Gallegos employed various firearms and a knife in the robberies; he is accused of discharging his weapon on multiple occasions. “He embodies the archetype of poster children.” “Since he is a convicted felon who should not have possessed a firearm, but did, we are already collaborating with our federal partners; they may decide to file criminal charges against Isidro for these offenses.”
Moreover, these charges represent only the start. Hartsock stated, “By the way, we believe he is involved in something else; that is all the evidence we have at this time.”
However, according to the police, he was assisted in a number of these crimes by a woman who confessed to the murder of her boyfriend over a decade ago. Brooke Hefty entered a not-guilty plea regarding involuntary manslaughter. However, she is once again incarcerated, having been apprehended on March 15 alongside Gallegos in connection with multiple armed robberies.

Infractions against Gallegos date back to the year 2000. He is confronted with an enormous 72 charges concerning the most recent armed robberies, plus an additional dozen in another case. Hartsock stated, “Isidro is an overachiever; that’s a lot of charges, but he merited every one of them.”
Later this week, Gallegos is scheduled to appear in court to determine whether or not he will be detained pending trial.
