Honk News (Morgan County, IN) – A former teacher from Morgan County has been taken into custody on accusations of molesting at least one student in 2024.
According to court documents, a grandmother reported to the police on December 10, 2024, that Brittany Fortinberry, aged 31, had allegedly molested her grandson when he was 15 years old.
According to court documents, the boy’s grandmother reported to the police that Fortinberry provided him with drugs and made threats to take her own life if he disclosed the information to anyone.
Court documents reveal that detectives interviewed the boy, who reported that Fortinberry connected with him on Snapchat and sent explicit photos. He claimed that they were intimate multiple times and that she took him on a trip to French Lick.
“[The boy] said that it was no different than a 30-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl. [The boy] said it was child molestation and he’s there because he doesn’t want her to molest more kids,” the court documents say.

Court documents claim the boy informed investigators that at least five other students had been victimized by Fortinberry, though the actual number may be nearer to 10.
“According to the court documents, the boy mentioned that some victims are contemplating sharing their experiences, while others prefer to remain silent.”
Fortinberry faces the following charges:
- Sexual Misconduct with a Minor
- Dissemination of Matter Harmful to a Minor
- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor
The boy’s remarks to authorities align with assertions from another inquiry that suggested Fortinberry possessed a stripper pole, sex toys, and drugs in her residence.
