Police in Indiana claim a man attacked his mom with punches and kicks to the head, and he used “Saran wrap” to try to suffocate her. The man told police he wanted to “convince her that he was not a little boy and that she couldn’t push him around” during the attack, which was over missing money.
Court documents indicate that 27-year-old Dylan Moles of New Castle is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, domestic battery, and strangulation in relation to the alleged matricide attempt that occurred on November 29.
After arguing with his mother over $1,000 that he thought she had stolen from his CashApp account, Moles allegedly punched, kneed, and attempted to suffocate her with plastic “Saran wrap,” according to WXIN. He had recently been released from jail on bond for an earlier alleged crime.
Police say that once the woman—who has not been named—denied receiving the funds, Moles allegedly started “beating on” her. Moles supposedly informed the police that before attacking his mother with the plastic wrap, he made sure the house was empty. It was stated that Moles’ mother fought back as he repeatedly punched her while dragging her to a bed and placing her in a headlock.
Witnesses supposedly corroborated Moles’ mother’s account during questioning with authorities, leading to her medical treatment at a nearby hospital for what seemed to be a possible skull fracture. Moles was allegedly apprehended at a Discount Tobacco store after he “calmly” fled on foot.
Criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication, driving while suspended, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, and other charges are shown in Moles’ arrest records.
He was released on bond on November 18th on charges of criminal trespassing and residential access, and for the past two weeks he had been staying with his mom. For that case, he has a court date of December 5th.
