Honk News (New Rochelle, NY) – A man taken into custody following the discovery of a teenager’s body on the roadside earlier this month now faces allegations of sexual abuse involving the minor.
Authorities reported that Jonson Temaj, 15, was discovered unresponsive on a sidewalk in New Rochelle, N.Y., during the early hours of February 6. He was declared deceased following his transfer to a medical facility.
On the next day, authorities took into custody 32-year-old Hugo Perez-Gabriel along with a 16-year-old male in relation to the homicide of Temaj, according to the announcement from the New Rochelle Police Department. According to police reports from PIX 11, the unnamed 16-year-old is the nephew of Perez-Gabriel.
Initially, the duo faced charges related to the concealment of a corpse, along with several other offenses. On Saturday, February 22, the Westchester County District Attorney’s office charged Perez-Gabriel with the sexual assault of a minor related to photos he reportedly solicited from the victim.
According to the DA’s office, Perez-Gabriel reportedly requested explicit material from Jonson via WhatsApp shortly before the teenager’s tragic discovery.

According to the DA’s office, Jonson is said to have sent the suspect two videos that depict a sexual performance.
He resided with his uncle, Mynor Temaj, who had earlier informed CBS that he was at his job when Jonson is thought to have passed away.
Perez-Gabriel faces serious allegations, including one count of concealing a corpse, two counts related to the use of a child in a sexual performance, two counts of distributing indecent material to minors, and two counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance involving a child, as detailed in online court records.
