Illegal Immigrant Kidnapped and Molested His Ex-Partner; Warrant Out for Arrest in Illinois

Honk News (Chicago, IL) A warrant for arrest has been issued for an individual suspected of being a member of a migrant gang, who was released from custody in Chicago last week, even though authorities believed they had sufficient grounds to hold him in connection with a murder case.

Pedro Colmenares, 33, a Venezuelan migrant without legal status, was already facing a weapons charge when he was apprehended by police last week. He is now suspected of involvement in the shooting death of a 25-year-old Hispanic man that occurred last September, according to an exclusive report from Fox News.

He is under suspicion for the abduction and sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend.

Authorities in Chicago indicated that there was sufficient reason to detain Colmenares in connection with the murder of a Hispanic man. However, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office decided against filing homicide charges, stating they had “carefully reviewed” the case and determined there was a lack of adequate evidence and “uncooperative witnesses.”

In October, Homeland Security attempted to detain him on an ICE hold related to weapons charges, but due to its sanctuary policy, Cook County declined to cooperate, resulting in Colmenares’ release.

Colmenares was sought by immigration agents for custody due to his illegal entry into the U.S. in September 2022. An immigration judge issued a deportation order for him in November of that year, as stated by DHS.

In the midst of contesting the deportation decision, he found himself in Chicago, moving about without restrictions.

Fox News has confirmed that an arrest warrant has been issued for Colmenares, related to the kidnapping and sexual assault of his former girlfriend last October in Chicago.

A court document indicates that a warrant has been issued for Colmenares, citing two serious charges: aggravated kidnapping and aggravated criminal sexual assault involving a firearm.

Colmenares reportedly approached the 27-year-old Hispanic woman in a vehicle, demanding she enter with the threat, “or I’ll shoot you.”

Authorities report that he forcibly transported the woman to another site on Chicago’s West Side, where he purportedly “attacked and sexually assaulted the victim” over a span of several days.

Colmenares has been summoned to appear in person before a judge on March 5 in Chicago. A court document reveals that he was instructed to relinquish his weapons and maintain distance from the domestic abuse victim; however, electronic monitoring was not mandated.
