Honk News (Bonneville County, ID) – An Idaho man has been discovered unclothed on the roadside next to a deceased infant. He has confessed to the murders of his pregnant wife and the baby.
An Idaho man discovered unclothed on a snowy road in 2023 next to the body of his 10-month-old son, shortly after his pregnant wife was shot and killed, has confessed to the murders of both.
Jeremy Best, 50, admitted guilt on February 13 to first-degree murder for the death of his son, Zeke Best, and second-degree murder for the deaths of his wife, Kali Randall Best, 39, and her unborn child, Freya, according to a joint news release from prosecuting attorneys for Teton and Bonneville Counties.
According to earlier reports, a disturbing incident started at 11:55 a.m. on Nov. 30, 2023, when the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about a naked man seen walking through the Swan Valley General Store in Swan Lake, as stated in a police press release.
A man named Best was transported to a nearby hospital for assessment of his mental health and medical issues. He received treatment and was sent home.

On that night, police reported that Best’s wife was discovered unresponsive at their home in Victor after a 911 dispatcher in Teton County detected a “disturbance” during the call.
Authorities have obtained a probable cause affidavit, which reveals that a female voice was heard on the 911 call saying, “Jeremy, no, Jeremy no.”
A man is heard in the background stating, “Get the f**k back, you’re going to get shot,” and “I love you, love you, love you,” as noted in the affidavit.

Kali Best was shot and declared dead at the scene.
Authorities identified Best as a suspect after discovering the couple’s son was missing, linking him to his wife’s death and the alleged kidnapping of baby Zeke. Officials announced an Amber Alert for the infant at that moment.
Two days later, a group of hunters dialed 911 after spotting Best in a sleeping bag on the roadside near Idaho Falls. They identified him as the individual sought by the Teton County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that Best was heard making unusual remarks that morning. Authorities discovered Best’s black Chevy SUV parked at the bottom of an embankment. Authorities reported that a baby was found near Best with a slit on his throat.
Best may spend the remainder of his life in prison. Prosecutors decided not to pursue the death penalty as part of the plea deal.
Best will be sentenced on July 23.
