Honk News (Los Angeles, CA) – A Hollywood film producer who has been charged with at least 15 sex crimes over the past 20 years will not face prosecution, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said on Friday.
According to the L.A. Times, producer David Guillod of “Extraction” and “Atomic Blonde” was arrested more than four years ago and initially charged with several charges of rape and sexual assault involving six victims in the counties of L.A. and Santa Barbara.
Judges in Santa Barbara County have dropped all charges against four of the victims after his arrest in October 2020 and sent the remaining two victims’ cases to Los Angeles County.
Guillod was charged with rape, kidnapping to rape, sodomy, rape of an unconscious person, rape of a drugged victim, sexual penetration of an unconscious person and an intoxicated person by a foreign object, and more.
In June 2022, The Times reported that a Santa Maria judge ruled that there was not enough evidence to trial Guillod on charges of sex offenses committed between 2014 and 2020, according to four victims.
But according to the story, the same court found enough evidence for a trial in relation to a 2018 incident involving an L.A. waitress who claimed to have been raped and sodomized, as well as an alleged 2012 attack on “Ted” actress Jessica Barth.
In his March 21, 2025 announcement, D.A. Nathan Hochman said his office is “unable to prove sexual assault allegations against David Guillod beyond a reasonable doubt.”
“The allegations involve deeply troubling and concerning behavior, and we empathize with the pain and trauma the accusers have experienced throughout this long investigative process,” read Hochman’s release.
“Please know that our decision in this matter does not undermine the seriousness of the allegations, but instead reflects the high legal burden our office faces in proving criminal charges beyond a reasonable doubt,” the release added.
Hochman added that his office “hopes that the example of these women will inspire victims of sexual abuse to seek support and report abuse as soon as possible,” even though they will not press charges in this case.
